July 2008 Members Meeting
Meeting called to Order by our Chairman Bill Cook at 1:04PM, in the Clubhouse.
Introduction of the Board.
Opening remarks: Bill asked that we only have one person talking at a time. Introduce yourself so we all know who you are. Please keep cross conversations down so we all can hear what is being discussed.
The brass sprinklers heads in the tent are were stolen and 3 newly planted trees in the campground were poisoned and will have to be replaced including the contaminated soil.
Manger’s Report: Kevin reported on the County Building Inspection Department. Their primary concern is the Life safety issues. The Planning department regulations allow for only one non residential building per lot.
Sylvia asked if a person owned more than one lot would it be treated as a single lot could we have one outbuilding per RR lot. Kevin will check.
The new playground equipment is here, Kevin was able to secure a 25% discount and installation will be this fall when usage is way down.
Road bed construction is complete now the County needs to bring it up to grade and surface. Not certain if we get asphalt or chip seal. In any case work should be complete on this portion by Labor Day.
Reminder that you loose your member in good standing privileges if you fall in arrears on your dues.
Reports: ORV activities still causing road damage but much less than last year. Unsupervised kids making a mess in the clubhouse. There is an extreme fire hazard condition this summer so being careful with the barbeques and absolutely no open fires advised.
Stan Marsh: What’s to be done if your neighbor has a fire?
Joe Anne: Who do we call?
Julie Griffith: What do we do if we smell smoke?
Stan: Will having a burn ban be the norm in the summer?
A: Call the office, use your best judgment, and assist with the fire truck if necessary.
The basalt columns will be erected at the main entry to RR. And the cattle guard will be reinstalled at its former location.
The telephone extension policy is changing. Formerly there was a maximum $400.00 charge and now we’re expecting to pay by the foot. The UTC is studying the potential for a cell tower on RR?
The Campground hookups are for active use not for storage.
Questions from the floor: The rest of the meeting was dominated by Stan Marsh, Julie Griffith, Curtis, Dale Knowlton, and George Anne Gamble to air gripes and special interests.
We are therefore considering discontinuing the members meeting because it does not appear to be fulfilling our goal of making it fun and informative.
Meeting adjourned at 3:05 PM.
Respectfully submitted
