Text Box: Greetings from Rimrock
Text Box: After a long and cool spring, summer has arrived. At press time we have 100-degree weather in the forecast. Despite the past low temperatures, precipitation has been about half of normal. As a result, we have a total burn ban in effect. The past two fires have been caused from sparks created by a power tool, so be careful!
On June 18, the county road project began. They are rebuilding the four miles north of the Grant/Douglas county line. At present, the road is very rough and there are delays due to lane closures. The project is estimated to take about two months Text Box: so be patient. Check our website for updates.
Despite fuel prices, Memorial weekend was business as usual. We would like to thank the crowd for their good behavior and excellent potluck dishes at the BBQ. On Labor Day weekend, we will follow the same format. Please note the details under “Things to Remember”.
We had an unfortunate incident where a dog was bitten by a rattler and did not survive. For those of you concerned about your dog, there is a vaccination available for dogs. It only works if administered prior to the bite. For more information please see Text Box: We are offering ATV/ORV classes through Labor Day on Saturday mornings at 9:30 in the Clubhouse. It is required that all drivers attend at least one each year.
If anyone has any items that might be of use in the campground, clubhouse or kitchen and are willing to donate them, please contact the office. It would be a tax deduction!
We have potlucks scheduled for July 26 and August 30. We again ask that you bring one dish per family. If your last name begins with: A-H, bring a salad or pasta dish; I-P, bring a vegetable dish; Q-Z, bring desserts or snacks.
Our Saturday Bingo nights have been very popular. They start at 6:30 PM in the clubhouse.
Text Box: We have nearly reached our sales goal for the year. Anyone that is on the list and has not been contacted will be at the top of the list for 2009.
The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission is considering changing the telephone line extension policy to a more restrictive and expensive rule. If that concerns you, contact Kevin for more details soon. They need public comments ASAP.
We would like to thank Don and Janet for acting as camp hosts for April and May. Ted and Janice have taken over and will be here until Bob and June arrive in July. Thank you!
As mentioned before, we strongly recommend that you take items of value home in the off-Text Box: Things to Remember
